Getting to James Cook University from Yorkeys Knob 

The main James Cook University is at  the Smithfield  Campus at 14-88 McGregor Road, Smithfield, Cairns. Approximately  10 minutes by car from Yorkeys Knob depending on traffic  . The local Cairns Taxi company contact ph is 40488333  ,they pick up  regularly at our door and go direct to the Uni..   Cheap Ubers, via the app or now by phone call are locally available or  some guests travel by bike ride on a flat, fully sealed road that goes via Cattana Wetlands and Campus shopping Centre . Alternatively catch the local  Sunbus. This popular local bus service goes to the university. This regular bus service has a designated bus stop at the University and currently costs just 50cents . There is a large digital screen at the University bus stop showing the next bus times to Yorkeys Knob  and Cairns  . Timetables for Sunbus to James Cook University are available on the Sunbus website . The bus stop from Yorkeys Knob to the university is just a 50 metre walk from our accommodation.
