Cairns accommodation with bath tub

In Cairns, there are not many holiday accommodations, hotels, motels or apartments, that come with a bath or a spa bath. I had to search all over Cairns and the Northern Beaches to find a Villa with a very large romantic bath where I could indulge myself and have a relaxing weekend. After travelling, you really appreciate a proper bathroom with a luxurious bath tub. The holiday accommodation I chose had a large bath tub which was very romantic and ideal for us as a couple. We found it to be a great alternative to staying at a Cairns hotel with a spa bath or Jacuzzi. A stay at Villa Marine gave me a reprieve away from Cairns city. The holiday villas adjoin rainforest and are a stone’s throw from the beach. We enjoyed the swimming, long beach walks and relaxing in the warm Coral Sea. Here I was able to immerse myself in nature and yet be just 15 minutes from Cairns.

We treated ourselves to a two bedroom villa with its luxury freestanding bath. I enjoyed just relaxing and unwinding in the bath after my travels. We think it would also be ideal for families who want to have bath time with their children. I also like the naturalness of the Yorkey’s rainforest environment that envelopes Villa Marina Holiday Apartments. The local yoga centre and the holistic healing by the massage therapist created such a relaxing time. The beautiful villa and the beauty of Yorkeys Knob beach made this a great find.

MY TIPS FOR THE PERFECT SPA WEEKEND IN CAIRNS

At first you have to get your mind and mood into the “spa zone”. Slip into comfortable clothes, play your favourite relaxing music, light some incense and candles and sip on some herbal tea or champagne before having a bath.

LOCAL CAIRNS BATH AND MASSAGE OILS

These can be bought locally in Cairns, Smithfield or at the local Yorkeys Knob chemist and massage therapist or make your own. Making your own bath and massage oils is really easy! Most commercial bath and massage oils blend fragrance with oils such as jojoba, almond, and even olive oil. For every ½ cup of vegetable-based oil you use you add 5 drops of essential oil. Use as much as you need when giving a massage, and about ¼ of the mixture for each bath you draw. I always travel with a bottle of macadamia oil anyway because it is an all-rounder: You can use it for cooking, as a make-up remover, as a moisturizer and for giving massages.

BODY SCRUB

A brown sugar body scrub is a gentle way to exfoliate the skin. The coarse grains from the sugar get rid of dead skin and the vegetable oil makes the skin soft and supple. For one application, mix ¾ cup of brown sugar with ¼ cup vegetable oil. Wet the skin slightly in the bathtub or with a damp washcloth. Gently rub the scrub into your skin using circular motions and rinse afterwards.

If you’re craving a day of relaxation, these spa recipes bring the spa right to you at Villa Marine ! I really appreciated us having a luxury weekend away at the Cairns Beaches.
