Villa Marine at Yorkeys Knob believes in providing accommodation for all persons regardless of disability, for this reason we have, here in Cairns, a disabled accommodation apartment, in order to give you a beautiful experience at the beaches and rainforest in a comfortable wheelchair accommodation in Cairn

Apartment details;
This apartment has been accessed by Cairns City Council as being suitable for ambulant disability, it is wheelchair accessible accommodation that has disabled access via a portable ramp, though not originally designed for persons with disabilities we have made changes to the apartment to better suit disabled persons with lowered light switches, grab rails in both toilet and shower along with a portable shower hose to make it more disabled friendly.
Being ground floor and just one step into the unit is an extra benefit, these extra facilities such as grab rails and adjustable shower chair are also useful for guests who are not disabled or don’t need a wheelchair friendly accommodation, but who just require a little extra assistance.
The apartment doesn’t have a disabled feel rather it is open plan in layout with the extra facilities a bonus. There is a queen bed and 2 single beds, split system air-conditioning, kitchen area with table and chairs, full size stove oven with all utensils and microwave.

The best part about this apartment is the special connection with the tropical nature, flora and fauna, you can enjoy rainforest nature. Unlike many other apartment complexes where you look out on other buildings, here, your outlook is the Rainforest!
We can provide you with binoculars to enjoy bird watching, here in Villa Marine we have more than 50 different species of birds to observe!

Local restaurant delivers dinner to our door. Local supermarket just 5 minutes away and the Yorkeys Knob Yacht club Marina has also a wheelchair access ramp, so you can enjoy great views out over the coral sea.
